All summer the Brooklyn Nets talked about beating the Heat. Well, in their home opener they did it. Beating Miami 101-100. They led for most of the game. Miami made a late run with a minute left to make it close.
In the first half Paul Pierce scored 2 points. He erupted for 17 in the second half. Joe Johnson hit a couple of key three-pointers down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Alan Anderson was key for Brooklyn coming off the bench. He played great defense and hit a couple of threes.
Nets had a lead of as much as 16 at one point. The score was close in the end but throughout Brooklyn dominated the two time defending champs. And for Nets fans around the world, this was a very great win tonight.
LeBron paced the Heat with 26 points and Wade added 21. The Heat fall to 1-2 after consecutive losses to Philadelphia and now Brooklyn.
The Nets next game is in Orlando, Sunday at 6 ET. Deron Williams should be back to normal minutes that game as well.
